1. Overview
This Refund Policy explains our practices regarding cancellations, billing, and refunds for Menulizer ("we," "us," or "our") subscription services. By subscribing to our Service, you acknowledge and agree to this Refund Policy.
At Menulizer, we strive to provide exceptional value and service to our customers. We offer flexible subscription options with the ability to cancel at any time, ensuring you maintain full control over your subscription.
2. Subscription Model
2.1 Subscription Types
We offer the following subscription types:
- Monthly Subscriptions: Billed on a monthly basis, automatically renewing every month until canceled.
- Annual Subscriptions: Billed on an annual basis, automatically renewing every year until canceled, typically offered at a discounted rate compared to monthly billing.
2.2 Automatic Renewal
All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel your subscription before the renewal date. You authorize us to charge your designated payment method for the applicable subscription fees at each renewal.
3. Free Trial
3.1 Trial Period
We offer a 14-day free trial for new customers on eligible paid plans. During the trial period, you will have full access to the features included in your selected plan at no charge.
3.2 Trial Requirements
To start a free trial, you must provide valid payment information. While you will not be charged during the trial period, providing payment information allows for seamless transition to a paid subscription if you choose to continue using our Service.
3.3 Trial Conversion
If you do not cancel your subscription before the end of the 14-day trial period, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription, and your payment method will be charged the applicable subscription fee.
We will send you a reminder email before your trial period ends to remind you of the upcoming charge. It is your responsibility to cancel before the trial ends if you do not wish to be charged.
3.4 Trial Eligibility
Free trials are available to new customers only and are limited to one trial per customer. We reserve the right to determine trial eligibility at our sole discretion and may deny trial access to prevent abuse of the trial offer.
Please note that free plan users do not require payment information and are not eligible for the 14-day trial of paid features, as the free plan is available indefinitely without a trial period.
4. No Refund Policy
4.1 General No Refund Rule
All subscription fees are non-refundable. Once you have been charged for a subscription period (whether monthly or annual), we do not offer refunds, whether full or partial, for any unused portion of your subscription.
This no-refund policy applies to:
- Monthly subscription fees
- Annual subscription fees
- Subscription renewals
- Upgrades to higher-tier plans
- Any promotional or discounted subscriptions
4.2 Rationale
Our no-refund policy allows us to maintain affordable pricing and invest in continuous improvement of our Service. In exchange, we provide you with:
- A 14-day free trial to test our Service before committing
- The ability to cancel at any time without penalties
- Continued access to your subscription until the end of your paid billing period, even after cancellation
- Flexible plan changes with prorated billing
4.3 Understanding Before Purchase
We encourage you to take advantage of our 14-day free trial to fully evaluate whether our Service meets your needs before committing to a paid subscription. By starting a paid subscription or allowing your trial to convert to a paid subscription, you acknowledge that you have had adequate opportunity to evaluate the Service and agree to our no-refund policy.
5. Cancellation Policy
5.1 Cancel Anytime
You may cancel your subscription at any time, for any reason, without penalty or cancellation fees. We believe in giving you full control over your subscription with no lock-in contracts or commitments.
5.2 How to Cancel
To cancel your subscription, you can:
- Through Your Account Settings: Log in to your Menulizer account, navigate to Settings > Subscription, and click "Cancel Subscription."
- Contact Support: Email our support team at contact@menulizer.com with your cancellation request, including your account email address.
5.3 Cancellation Effective Date
When you cancel your subscription, the cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain full access to all subscription features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
For example:
- If you have a monthly subscription that renews on the 15th of each month and you cancel on the 5th, you will maintain access until the 15th.
- If you have an annual subscription that renews on January 1st and you cancel on June 15th, you will maintain access until January 1st of the following year.
5.4 No Automatic Renewal After Cancellation
Once you cancel, your subscription will not automatically renew at the end of the current billing period, and your payment method will not be charged again unless you resubscribe.
5.5 Reactivation
If you cancel your subscription and later decide to return, you can resubscribe at any time through your account settings. Please note that pricing and available plans may have changed since your original subscription.
6. Prorated Billing
6.1 Plan Upgrades
You may upgrade your subscription plan at any time. When you upgrade to a higher-tier plan, prorated billing will be applied as follows:
- You will be immediately charged the prorated difference between your current plan and the new plan for the remainder of your current billing cycle.
- Your new plan features will be available immediately upon upgrade.
- Your next billing date remains the same, and you will be charged the full price of the new plan at your next renewal.
Example: If you are 15 days into a 30-day monthly billing cycle on a $20/month plan and upgrade to a $40/month plan, you will be charged approximately $10 (the prorated difference for the remaining 15 days), and you will have immediate access to the upgraded features.
6.2 Plan Downgrades
You may downgrade your subscription plan at any time. When you downgrade to a lower-tier plan, the following applies:
- The downgrade will take effect at the end of your current billing period.
- You will continue to have access to your current plan features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
- At your next renewal, you will be charged the price of the lower-tier plan.
- We will apply a prorated credit to your account for the difference between your current plan and the downgraded plan, which will be applied to your next billing cycle.
Example: If you are on a $40/month plan and downgrade to a $20/month plan 10 days into your billing cycle, you will continue to have access to the $40/month features for the remainder of your current billing period. At your next renewal, you will be charged $20/month minus any applicable prorated credit.
6.3 Switching Billing Frequency
If you switch from monthly to annual billing (or vice versa), the change will take effect at the end of your current billing period. Prorated credits may be applied when switching billing frequencies, calculated based on the unused portion of your current subscription.
7. Payment Processing
7.1 Payment Processor
All payments are processed through Polar.sh, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing to our Service, you agree to Polar.sh's terms and conditions and privacy policy.
Menulizer does not store your full credit card information. All payment information is securely handled by Polar.sh in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
7.2 Payment Methods
We accept the following payment methods through Polar.sh:
- Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
- Debit cards
- Other payment methods as supported by Polar.sh
7.3 Failed Payments
If your payment fails due to expired card information, insufficient funds, or any other reason, we will notify you via email and attempt to process the payment again. If payment cannot be processed after multiple attempts:
- Your subscription may be suspended or downgraded to a free plan
- You will lose access to paid features until payment is successfully processed
- Your account will not be immediately deleted, giving you time to update your payment information
To avoid service interruption, please ensure your payment information is current and that your payment method has sufficient funds available.
7.4 Updating Payment Information
You can update your payment information at any time through your account settings. We recommend updating your payment method before your card expires to prevent service interruption.
8. Billing Cycle and Charges
8.1 Billing Date
Your billing date is determined by the date you initially subscribed or completed your free trial. For monthly subscriptions, you will be billed on the same day each month. For annual subscriptions, you will be billed on the same date each year.
If your billing date falls on a day that does not exist in a particular month (e.g., the 31st in a month with only 30 days), you will be billed on the last day of that month.
8.2 Billing Notifications
We will send you email notifications regarding your billing, including:
- Payment receipts after successful charges
- Upcoming renewal reminders (typically 7 days before renewal for monthly, 30 days for annual)
- Failed payment notifications
- Plan change confirmations
8.3 Pricing Changes
We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. If we increase the price of your subscription plan, we will notify you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The new pricing will apply at your next renewal after the notification period.
If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect, and you will continue to have access until the end of your current billing period.
9. Exceptions to No Refund Policy
While we maintain a general no-refund policy, we may, at our sole discretion, offer refunds or credits in the following exceptional circumstances:
9.1 Service Outages
If our Service experiences a significant outage or downtime that substantially prevents you from using core features for an extended period, we may provide a prorated credit or refund for the affected time period. This determination will be made on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.
9.2 Billing Errors
If we mistakenly charge you an incorrect amount due to a billing error on our part (such as charging you twice for the same period or charging an incorrect rate), we will refund the erroneous charge.
9.3 Unauthorized Charges
If you believe you have been charged without authorization or due to fraud, please contact us immediately at contact@menulizer.com. We will investigate the matter and may issue a refund if we determine that the charge was unauthorized.
Please note that charges that result from your failure to cancel before a renewal or trial expiration are considered authorized and are not eligible for refunds under this provision.
9.4 Legal Requirements
In jurisdictions where our no-refund policy conflicts with consumer protection laws, we will comply with applicable legal requirements. If you believe you are entitled to a refund under the laws of your jurisdiction, please contact us with details.
9.5 Discretionary Exceptions
In rare and exceptional circumstances, we may choose to offer a refund or credit as a gesture of goodwill. Such decisions are made at our sole discretion on a case-by-case basis and do not set a precedent for future requests.
10. Chargebacks
10.1 Chargeback Policy
A chargeback occurs when you dispute a charge with your credit card company or bank rather than contacting us directly. We strongly encourage you to contact our support team at contact@menulizer.com if you have any billing concerns before initiating a chargeback.
10.2 Consequences of Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback:
- Your account may be immediately suspended or terminated
- You will lose access to all Service features and your data may be subject to deletion
- We reserve the right to dispute illegitimate chargebacks with evidence of service delivery
- You may be liable for chargeback fees and any costs we incur in responding to the chargeback, as permitted by law and our Terms of Service
- You may be prohibited from creating new accounts or resubscribing in the future
10.3 Legitimate Disputes
If you have a legitimate billing dispute, please contact us first. We are committed to resolving any genuine issues fairly and promptly. Most disputes can be resolved quickly through direct communication.
11. Account Access After Cancellation
11.1 Continued Access
When you cancel your subscription, you will maintain full access to all features of your paid plan until the end of your current billing period. This ensures you receive the full value of the service you have already paid for.
11.2 Transition to Free Plan
After your paid subscription ends (following cancellation), your account will automatically transition to our free plan, if available. You will retain access to features included in the free plan but will lose access to premium features.
11.3 Data Retention
After your subscription ends:
- Your account and basic data will be retained according to our free plan allowances
- Menu content and configurations will be preserved as permitted by the free plan limitations
- Some premium features or data may be archived or removed after a certain period
- You may export your data at any time before or after cancellation through your account settings
We recommend exporting any important data before canceling or shortly after cancellation to ensure you have a backup of your information.
11.4 Account Deletion
If you wish to completely delete your account and all associated data, you must submit a deletion request through your account settings or by contacting our support team. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
12. Promotional Offers and Discounts
12.1 Promotional Pricing
We may occasionally offer promotional discounts, coupon codes, or special pricing. Unless otherwise stated, promotional offers:
- Are non-refundable
- Cannot be combined with other offers
- May have expiration dates or usage limitations
- Apply only to the initial billing period unless specified otherwise
- Are subject to our standard no-refund policy
12.2 Promotional Renewals
After a promotional period ends, your subscription will renew at the standard pricing rate unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will notify you of the upcoming standard rate before the promotional period expires.
13. Taxes and Additional Fees
13.1 Tax Charges
Subscription prices displayed may not include applicable taxes, such as sales tax, value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), or other local taxes. Where required by law, we will calculate and add applicable taxes to your subscription charges.
You are responsible for any taxes associated with your subscription. Taxes are not refundable, even in cases where we might offer a discretionary refund of subscription fees.
13.2 Payment Processing Fees
Menulizer absorbs standard payment processing fees. However, certain payment methods or international transactions may incur additional fees charged by Polar.sh or your financial institution. These fees are beyond our control and are not refundable.
14. Refund Request Process
14.1 How to Request a Refund

If your refund request is approved, the refund will be processed through Polar.sh to your original payment method within 5-10 business days. The time it takes for the refund to appear in your account depends on your financial institution and may take an additional 5-10 business days after processing.

By subscribing to Menulizer, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Refund Policy. You understand and agree that:
- Subscription fees are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances as outlined in this policy
- You have the opportunity to try our Service free for 14 days before committing to a paid subscription
- You can cancel your subscription at any time without penalty
- You will maintain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period after cancellation
- Plan changes (upgrades/downgrades) are handled with prorated billing as described in this policy
